Launch of “El Libro de la Paz”
On April 14th, 2011, in the Bankers Club, the Honorary Consulate of Israel in Guayaquil, launched “El Libro de la Paz”, an unique work that contains forty stories and poems written by the most representative authors of Israel -among the best in Hebrew and Arabic languages –making it the largest Israeli anthology in Spanish.
Yaron Avitov, the compiler of this book, has won four awards: to the Social Science Research (1993), winner of the Jerusalem Fund for Literature (1994), Amos Fund Award (1998) and the Prime Minister´s Award to Literature (2005).
This event was attended by the Ambassador of Israel to Ecuador, Mr. Eyal Sela and also personalities related with art and culture, authorities, Honorable Members of the Consular Corps, alumni, members of the Jewish Community in Guayaquil, media, among others..
